Here's what I bought for my '89 Grand Wagoneer. Perfect fit!

    ACDelco 7840995 Transmission Control Pointer

    $12.78 right now on Amazon...

(Amazon says it does not fit, but it does.)

Thanks for the link. I dropped something on mine and it broke the selector off. I found a steering column cheap and bought it. I have not made it that far but may have to purchase replacement parts to get mine right.

Mine broke like some of you guys. I just got one of my kids paint brushes cut it to the height I wanted drilled two tiny holes one on the remainder of the indicator and the end of the brush. Glued them together with a small rod in the center and it has been working fine for me so far.

Thanks for the link and the option for a replacement.

Just wanted to update........this link is still good!! But the price went up!

Anyone know where to find the clear lettered gear indicator plate that slides into the selector housing? My letters are all wiped out.

And NO.....I do not have the steady hand to repaint the letters...

Hate to bring up an old thread but, Im unsure how to install this thing. Mine is broke so I bought a new one (before I found the amazon link for the $12 one!). I thought I had to take the steering column apart, but does the little fella just slide down in there?

There was a guy on here that was selling laser cut Jeep keychain grills. I wonder if he could easily outline and cut out aluminum indicators too?

Looks like LMC carries the indicator plate for that GM column (and the indicator is only $6!)

Dang, that wouldve saved me $20.

If the price was right, Id be all in for an aluminum indicator.

Does the guy still have key chains still for sale tinkerjeep?

                                Did it work???

Also, is there a light bulb in there? At night I cannot tell what gear I am in. Coming down the mountain last night I kept turning on the dome light to be able to downshift.
