Here's the only pic I could find right away. This was taken by the previous owner about one year before I bought it.

Looks real nice. From your description it was in far worse shape although your frame does need some attention. Grandwagoneers.com has a kit to fix the frame rot near the gas tank so you may want to start there. After that grab some por-15 and start painting. Good Luck!

My description was of ONLY the worst stuff in need of fixing

The frame rot near the gas tank was fixed during the time that the previous owner had the vehicle. I think the skidplate was brand new also.

Here it is agian in my driveway before I put the rear axle back in.

I did a frame-off resto of my 73 J4000 five years ago. My frame had no rust through, but a lot of scale/surface rust. Took care off that with a big-a$$ 100 cfm compressor and industrial sandblaster. Also blasted the bottom of the cab and firewall. Once everything was down to bare metal, used a self-etching epoxy primer and about 5 coats of gloss black rustoleum. The body was replaced with a doghouse from a 78 J10 and a rust free bed from CA. The only original body parts left on mine are the hood and dash and a few small parts.
