    BJ's 6" lift on 3/4 ton?

So if I go with the 8 lug front/rear,will the lift kit from BJ's come in 3/4 ton springs or does that pretty much eliminate the whole heavy duty suspension?

AFAIK BJ's lifts kits only come in one spring rate, which I would guess is something a bit over half ton spring ratings.

So yes, you would lose the HD suspension.

Custom springs up front and blocks or custom springs in the rear. I would think that a stiff spring (for weight carrying capacity) and a lot of arch for lift would give a pretty bad ride though.

SOA in the front and shackle flip in the back.

Shackle flip with the stock springs on most almost all J-trucks will allow you to put 35" on them. I have a 3" body lift on my 73 J4000 and I am able to clear tall skinny Swamper Truxus 33's or 255x85x16 which allows me to run chains because of frame clearance.

I also plan to flip the shackle so I can order the Hellcreek front springs. Don't plan to go to a bigger tire yet but I want to get my frame out of the snow more when I break driveways.

This truck, kaisermans I think, was able to put on 36's, or 9.50x16's, bias tires. So it all depends on how wide of a tire you want to go. I do like the ride height of this rig!

I'm gonna assume you have a j-20. Let's be realistic here the stock springs suck. If you want 35's and a decent ride do the bj's springs. I dunno what you need a 3/4 but test out the bj's springs and see if they sag. If so bag it, or use a helper spring. if not use keep on truckin. Be sure you specify a j20 when ordering so you get ubolts to fit the 60

I agree, if you decide to order the BJ's kit, plan on bags for the rear if you carry or tow alot of tounge weight. I have a 01 Dodge Diesel and I needed to put bags on the rear when I pull heavy since I put the lift on it.

Yes I do search and read, but some of the questions I have asked I did'nt find what I was lookin' for.anyhow thanks for all the info.I have a J10 golden eagle but found a J20 front and rear.I work on a ranch and it's kinda handy to be able to move stock trailors and cattle around when the big trucks are bein used.

I for got about SOA front and shackle flip for the rear. Tons of info on that here. Use the google seach like I mentioned.

You will have to do somehitng for your steering, and you will probable need longer driveshafts for a SOA in the front.

My truck above with the 36" bias plys is about 2" above stock height in the front and 1" in the rear. The tires rubbed the front corners of the front fenders, I think I would have been okay if I had trimmed them. The rear srpigs are so stiff I never would have rubbed back there.

Yep that's just right on that truck, that's where I want mine to sit.I believe I have decided to go with BJ's 6W/bags in the rear. And, I may end up going with 36".There's a certain look I'm trying for and I think that will work.I may also go with a 1" lift shackel in the rear to get a slight rake. That's one nice truck.

Unless you flip the rear shackles, a lift shackle will lower your ride height. Lift shackles only work for suspensions with the shackle pointing toward the ground.

your best / least expensive route would be the 6" full suspension and bags for the rear for when towing heavy loads.
