A friend of mine is a retired truck driver and he rebuilt an old Peterbilt (I think), long square nose and a small sleeper unit. It looks like new, it's his around town driver.

i drove my dads restored 1981 359 pete with an 8V92 Silver detroit 2 stroke for about a year.

Awesome post. I too have a soft for cabovers, so few you see these days on the road. Grandad was a teamster, last rig was a transtar II. Drove everything from chain drive AC's to 12V Brockways. Thanks for sharing your work here.

i moved the fifth wheel back 2 holes. it's still a little forward of center but not near as bad as it was as far as steer axle weight.

on my hi top coe i leave the 5th wheel all the way back all the time. i can scale a 45K and change water load without moving it forward at all.



buddy of mine has a slider i can have but i think i'll leave it on this truck.
