After some work with my trusty Metabo grinder and a 4" heavy knotted wire wheel it doesn't look as bad.

Still a lot more cleanup and some cutting to come. I also have to remove the two fuel lines and brake line to be able to cut, grind and weld. Then some rust converter and por15. Should be plenty strong once I rebuild the bottom edge. I plan on continuing the repair piece up the side of the frame a few inches just to be safe.

Well I've been doing a bunch of little things while I'm waiting on a major parts order from BJ's. I've been painting and cleaning up various brackets and such with Por15. Also prepped and painted my intake with a ceramic paint from Eastwood. Here's some progress pics.

        Looking great!

Just curious as to why you didn't opt for an aftermarket intake?

Good question...And I did consider it. I probably will end up doing that down the road but at this point costs are starting to pile up!!! Purchase price, 4" All Spring Lift Kit, Tires, Shocks, Full S/S Exhaust w/Cat & Y-pipe, Howell FI Kit, Headliner, Window Wipes, Steering Box & P/S Pump, S/S Hard Brake lines, Optima Red Top Battery, Heater Core, Frame Repair, New Brakes all around, Master Cylinder, Cold air intake, Stereo & Speakers, All new Belts & Hoses as well as various Bushings, Seals, Paints and misc parts that nickel and dime you to death. It all starts to add up! Besides if I do everything now what will I have left to do later???

Boy do I hear you BigOberg, and on top of that throw in a couple of biggies that you did not account for but found along the way. It can bring your budget to it's knees.

Exactly Achilles! This is my first FSJ build but not my first build! I'm actually already thinking I might have to add a new radiator to my budget. I wasn't planning on that one

Been busy working on a bunch of this and that. Worked on cleaning up the underside and frame. Removing the old brake lines in preparation for the new S/S Hard Lines. Also preparing for the lift. Removed the rear shocks and track bar. Getting ready to Weld in my frame repair piece. Then Por15 the frame and undercoat the body. After that I can start putting all the new stuff back on.

Going to remove the rear next. I want to clean it up and por15 it before I install the new 4" BJ's Lift.

I've also been working on the Howell Fuel Injection Install. Installed a new CTO in it's new location and installed the TB adapter plate and the TB.

New gasket for the choke stove

                Throttle body installed

Can't wait to put the new chrome valve covers on. It should look pretty good.

Thanks! Finally starting to make some real progress! I'd have to measure it for you. I did throw the stock air cleaner on to check the fit. There was plenty of clearance to close the hood. Just have to check the throttle clearance on the bottom of the air cleaner. But it might just be a temporary fix. I'd like to put on one of those duel cold air intake setups. I do plan on doing a separate thread detailing my Howell Fuel Injection Install. There really isn't anything on this site that really gets into it all and the install instructions are vague at best. I've got it all figured out and I'll go through it with pics.

So lately I have been doing the fun job of wire brushing and rust converting the underside of the Wagoneer. Just about finished and ready to spray the underside of the body with undercoating. Also getting in the last of my parts and finishing some odds and ends.
Here's my finished exhaust manifolds. Plugged and coated with Calyx.

Here's the piece I made for my frame repair along the skid plate. Fits great. Once it's welded in I can Por15 the frame.

Also my tires (32 x 11.5 R15 BFG AT's) as well as my BJ's 4" Lift Springs came in!!

I've gotta start putting some of this stuff back on. I'm running out of room!
