    Valve stem seals

I'm replaing the valve stem seals but ran into a poblem today. The new felpro seals do not fit tight on the stem. A quick web search revealed much dissatisfaction with the felpro seals but no suggestions on something better. I ordered some mahle metal/rubber seals from rock auto hoping this will do the trick. Anyone try them before or have another suggestion for a better seal? Thanks!

Use the earlier black rubbers seals, they work just fine.

Enginetech S2886 look like what the engine builder used on my engine.
Regardless, that's what I bought to replace the damaged one. Seems fine.

the stock seals are not positive seals. they are a umbrella seal, which is what the fel pro seals are.

the mahle seals you ordered sound like positive seals, which require a step machined into the guide to mount them on.

I got the mahle seals today. Theyt are advertised as rubber/metal yet upon inspection today they are simply the rubber umbrella type. They look like they'll fit much tighter on the stem.

They'll be fine as long as your valve guides are within spec.
