Are you haunted by the ideas of a dead engineer or bean counter's pennies saved?

Remember the Budweiser Commercials "Real American Heros" and "Real Men of Genius"?

    I do.

Also, last week while trying to partially unmount my gas tank, I was haunted by the decision to use a loose bolt instead of a stud, two of them mind you, to hold one corner of the gas tank. Since the bolt can turn freely, there's only one way to loosen it without damaging the threads, somehow get a ratchet and socket on the bolt head, then turn the nut. Or damaging the threads, grab on to the 2" long shaft and turn the nut.
What do they have against captive nuts? I salute you Mr. No Captive Nut Ever man!

Most fasteners are SAE, but not all! Here's to you Mr. nonsensical Metric Fastener Sprinkler.

And who could forget the guy who put an extra hole behind the grill where you'll certainly set an expensive tool or an uncommon nut or bolt while under the hood that will then roll into it and fall behind the grill? Where it will likely stay until the grill is removed before it's found.
    Thank you random hole man.

I'm sure you've recently experienced a monumentally awesome decision by someone at AMC, post a tribute to him.

Proper grammar dictates the question is "may I borrow your BFH?" To which I answer "yes, you may, no take the bigger one, you'll need it".
