V-Belt Length

To get v-belt length: in inches

         d1=large pully
         d2=small pully
         1.6=constant
         L=Distance between pully centers.

         Belt length = [1.6 x (d1+d2)] + 2 x L

EXAMPLE:

         A 12" pully, a 4" pully and 12"-16" distance between center bolts. Using 14" for distance (middle of adjustment range).

         [1.6 x (12 + 4) + 2 x 14 = length of belt

         [1.6 x (16) + 28 = 53.6 inches

For multiple pullies: Note: 3.1416 = Pi
         belt length = sum of distances + 3.1416 x (sum of diameters)

Easy/short method can also be used:
         length for 2 pullies = sum of dists + (1.6 x sum of diameters)
         length for 3 pullies = sum of dists + (1.1 x sum of diameters)
         length for 4 pullies = sum of dists + (0.75 x sum of diameters)
