Will this work? Rear shackle replacement.

I am in the process of the inevitable spring replacement ( saggin') . I am looking at just cutting off the back shackle boxes ( mud traps) and putting chevy hangers in their place. I have seen where some users have done this to do a flip. I am not wanting to do a flip but it seems that it might be easier to just cut off the dreaded boxes and drill holes and bolt up the chevy hangers.
Has any body thought about this? Done this with any success? I am just trying to make this as easy as possible and IF I have to go back in and do it as a repair the chevy shackles may be easier to work on.

Any input or comments will be greatly appreciated.

    thanks in advance
