WIRING HELP

I am putting a turbo 400 in a 89 GW The T 400 uses a starter with a remote solenoid and the 89 starter the solenoid is part of it with a relay on the inner fender. How do I switch it over? Where can I get wiring diagrams for the motor? THANKS

FSJ's that used the TH400 in the 70's had the same style starter as you got with the fender-mounted relay/solenoid. I think the starter on later FSJ's was made by Mitsu . TH400 ones were Ford style.

Is this TH400 and starter you are working with out of a Jeep or GM truck or car?

I did this before.............Now to remember how I did it!

Leave the Mitsu Starter relay alone, disconect nothing from it. Mount a Selinoid for the Ford Style starter beside the Mitsu starter relay. Run a Positive Battery Cable from the Battery to the Bat side of Selinoind, then run 2nd cable from starter side of the selinoid to the starter. The small gauge wire that originally went to the Mitsu Starter selinoid (GREEN I think) now goes to the S terminal on the Ford Selinoid. If I remembered everything correctly............it should work. The only thing I can't remember is what I did about the N safety switch, I forget how that works on the Mitsu Starter system.

Thanks everybody I got everything hooked up using a ford solenoid and replaced the relay. I hooked all the hots to the one side of the solenoid to the battery and the starter to the other side. Then took the ignition wire from the relay and put it to the S marked on the solenoid it seems to work fine.
