360 Engine balance with 727/th400 flexplate?

Just wanted to see your thoughts. My guy that has rebuilt my 360 says he balanced the block with the 727 flexplate. The 360 came out of a '88 gw with the 727. I'm putting it in my J10 to replace the 401 and it has the th400 behind it. Both have different flexplates, duh! So, the shop is saying I don't need it rebalanced to using the th400 flexplate. It was really his mistake when I told him to order the th400 flexplate and he got a 727 plate instead. I'm putting this engine back together, but would SERIOUSLY like to know if he is right or do I need to get it "properly" rebalanced with the th400 plate. TIA for your help!!!

I have swapped Flex Plates/Flywheel around for years, there will be no ill effect. You do need the Crank Bushing for the TH400 installed in the end of the crank for the TH400 Torque Convertor, if that has not been done.

Thanks CrazyJeepman! Can that bushing be picked up at NAPA or must it be ordered....couldn't I use the existing bushing and put it in the 360 crank?
