    Topper Cap Question

I need to know does a ford ranger topper for the 7ft box fit my 78 j10? I am having a really hard time finding a topper to work with this pick up. The short box seems harder to find anything for than 8ft box thanks

The only one that really fits is the one made for the truck.
If it were an 8 ft. box, the one from the early Dakota would fit.
The toppers do exist, it's just a matter of locating one. If J-trucks were popular in your area, it would not be a problem to locate one.

I have called a local truck cap builder and they can build you an aluminum one. Price started at around $600. Swiss Cap of Patriot, In.
The old ones are around but it may take some time to find one.

They fit. A little narrow and short but the length is about right. Here is a pic of my 71 with a Ranger cap on it. Hard to tell from te pic, but it does NOT touch the cab.

Unfortunately in Iowa I would guess there are literally only a handful of shortbox j-series around. There are just not alot of FSJ on the road period around here anymore.

When I said short I meant height wise. Just re-read my post and it was a little confusing.
