It's not really necessary to find original material. The newer materials hold up much better than the old stuff. It's just a matter of finding someone who can duplicate the design.
We had seats done years ago for a '78 Cherokee. The upholstery shop got original material to do the job. Came from some place in Baltimore. The stuff was dated 1977. Can't check with the shop. He went out of business a few years ago.
I have the '73 data book that has the sample of the upholstery.

I can scan the pages and e-mail to you.
The data book is quite interesting. Shows the entire line of vehicles, colors, standard equipment, and options.
        PM me your e-mail address.

There is a post on the forum about photos.
They have to be re-sized to a certain size, using a site such as photobucket.
The instructions are easy to understand.

                Seat material

                Hey there,

Try smsautofabrics.com in Canby, OR (USA). They claim to have most NOS material for almost all American made vehicles, including Jeeps.

I just purchased enough material for both bench seats in my '63 Wagoneer. It's NOS material, and it's a perfect match! Beautiful!

You can call them and explain what you have. Pictures would be helpful, I'm sure. They'll also send samples.

I'd give them a shot. They were very helpful to me.

                Good luck!

Can I get in on that as well? I would love to see the 82 Cherokee model year, if you have it.

When I had my '80 Laredo houndstooth redone I found the material was listed as from a Dodge Adventurer.
