    74 Drivers door release mechanism

Well it seems my door is a bit tight with the aftermarket weatherstripping and today when i tried to exit my truck, the door handle broke off...

I need the door release mechanism that the handle bolts onto and it attached to the door. Not sure if all years are the same.

If someone is parting out a driver and passenger door, I will take the lock mechanisms and release mechanisms as well.

My doors do not have the loop on the jamb, they have the cup with the notch... hard to describe. I will get pics of it.

Here's some pics that may help.

I am replacing my Pre 1979.5 right rear door with a door from a 1983.

    Right rear passenger door swap.

Yes, that is the info I was looking for... I have the pre-1979.5 striker plate and lock mechanisms.

If anyone is parting out a driver and passenger front doors, I would pretty much want the striker plates, lock mechanisms, and lock release cranks.

I was able to use my OA and a #1 tip and successfully welded the splines back onto the base portion of the release mechanism, but I am unsure how long it would hold... I did beef it up with extra material and used my dremel to clean up the splines.

If you can post up pics of exactly what you need, I may have them from a 75. I know the stiker plates but unsure exactly what the other parts are.

I do not have pics being the door is assembled on the truck. I may pull it apart to clean it this weekend. If I do, I will get pics of what I’m looking for.

I need the parts you swapped from your pre 1979 door into the 1983 door. From a front door, not a rear door though.

          I need the strikers...

The lock assemblies are screwed to the inside rear of the door and engage the striker to hold the door closed. It is held in with 3 tapered screws that face the striker when closed.

The remote assembly. It is screwed to the door with 3 screws and has a linkage that attaches to the lock mechanism assembly (described above) and the interior door handle slides on and is held in place with a single screw in the center.

I found this over on FSJ network (I think). I need the one on the left. I also need the other part that goes to the interior door handle with the long rod/bar on it.
Needing the drivers side and passenger side setups.
