I've gotta ask...wonder what the fuel mileage that would it?

In theory, it should not burn that much fuel as efficient as those engine are suppose to be.
Even though that engine prob'y produces HP in a high RPM range, I would want to think it has plenty of HP on tap
that it would not need to turn lots of R's to produce the HP required to move a FSJ at highway speed, thus less fuel.

    Okay...I am full of it...right?

My Bosch FI '85 V12 got ~15 mpg... in my XJS and I didn't have a light foot. You might be able to improve on your AMC mileage.

They had it out on display when I went to the museum several years back.

William Harrah had it built so he could travel between his casinos at Lake Tahoe and Reno.

...and it had to be fast, and in any weather condition. Works for me.

My 4,700Lb Jag with the V12/TH400 and 2.88:1 rear would do 120 mph in 2nd gear if I upshifted manually

I vaguely recall that being in a magazine eons ago, seems like they had to lengthen the snout 4-6-?? inches to get it to fit.

Deep memory still works, short term sucks

From the Museum in Reno, January 2005:

                1977 JERRARI

Donated By: Harrah's Hotels & Casinos

                Model: Custom 4WD Wagoneer

                Built By: Jeep Corporation
                Subsidiary of American Motors Corporation
                Toledo, Ohio

                Price: N/L

                Engine: DOHC Ferrari 12 Cylinder, 365 H. P.

                Bore: 3-3/16"

                Stroke: 2-3/4"

                Displacement: 267.9 Cu. In.

William F. Harrah originated the idea of combining a Ferrari with a Jeep
Wagoneer to create a four-wheel-drive sports car. Harrah wanted a
four-wheel-drive vehicle that could handle Nevada's winters, especially
when he drove from Reno to Lake Tahoe and back. From the outside, the
vehicle looks like a stock Jeep Wagoneer, but the body and chassis were
                combined with a Ferrari 365 GTC/4 V-12 engine and C4 five-speed
transmission, which was coupled to the Jeep Quadratrack drive train.
Built in Harrah's own restoration shops and to his specifications, the
engine compartments and hood were stretched 2-1/2 inches, the radiator
was discarded and two split units were installed on the right and left
front of the engine. The mesh intake below the front license plate
screens air into the helicopter-engine oil cooler. The additions of
wipers and washers for the halogen headlamps and the Ice Alerts under
the front bumper made driving in a Nevada snowstorm much easier.
Without the hindrance of snow, top speed was 140 mph.

Check out how they smooth the lines on the green one.

                    Great pics.

I have an old book that has an article dating from the 70's on the Harrah's restoration shop. They were set up to make their own parts from scratch if need be, which explains some of the unusual stuff like the Jerrari nameplate on the orange wag.

You gotta wonder. Is that truly the first aerodynamicallt designed SUV ever? The forerunner of many of today's aerodynamic SUV's?

As ugly as it is, this Jeep, and the orange one are 2 ideas way ahead of their time.

I wonder how much of a MPG increase that front clip is good for?

What I wonder is how fast that green one would have to go before the aerodynamics cause LIFT.

It always amazes me the info this site can generate. I never thought I would get to see a picture of the Green Wagoneer. Boy is it ugly, maybe I should have kept dreaming how good it might look!
900 plus pictures not in any order taken during restoration. (Plus a couple of assorted pictures that down loaded.)

Would that be the ultra rare, much sought after Jeerarri Daytoganeer?

Those are even harder to find than a working rear wiper.
