Decided to sell my spare 401 to fund another project, seems to be stock bore, stock size crank and rods and pistons. Have a new set of forged pistons, .040 and pressed on rods and ready to go in....

It would have a pink foam look if there was trans fluid running inside the cooling system. most likely you have rust/corrosion inside the block or engine oil leaking into it.

If the springs are for amc motors then you should not need to as they are already designed for it. If you are putting in springs from a different motor/ setup then check them just to be sure.

Again I am wondering why you are doing this? A lot of money, time and effort for almost nothing, there are already roller rockers out there for sale that fit with out modifications needed.
