On a 89 wagoneer where is the the reverse light switch on the trans or in the steering column? I put in a th 400 tran and don't see any wire on trans.

On a 727 the swith is on the drivers side of the trans just above the pan. TH400 it is in the column.

Let me check some books. I'll post up here in a few minutes...

        Where there's a will there's a waiver, I mean a way...

Back: I'm checking to see if the switch assembly for a mid 80s K20 is a direct fit or not...it's taking a little bit...

Its too dark and dirty out in the shed, but I got a 86 column out back, I'll dig it out and see if it's got provisions for the switch tomorrow.

If it dont have provisions for a switch, surely there is something there to make a bracket fit on to it. I know the wiring is simple enough.

Sorry it took a couple days more than I intended!

The factory GM holes are there but the little piece to hold the switch pin and the switch mounting plate and screw holes are missing:

My best recommendation at this time is to find a matching color steering column from a 3 speed auto chevy truck and install it with your steering wheel, or get an aftermarket floor shifter with the back up light wiring in it. Or go super cheap and easy and just wire it to a dash switch and turn them on when you need them...
