new project

Its my dad's and brothers project really, but I'm helpin. Its a 55 Willys, has a 53 Studebaker engine in it. It was an old farm truck. Paid 500 for it. We havent got it running yet. I keep pushing them to get the J10 the neighbor has with a blown engine and swap the bodies, but they're insistant on seeing if the old Stude will run. It'll be fun.

I do have a question, everywhere I read it says it should have a Timken rearend in it, but its definitly a Dana, but what model Dana? 53?

Nice!

-Yep- 'most likely a 53. Like all Dana axles, it'll have the model number cast into the webbing . As you're looking at the cover, I think it's on the lower left "web" - scrape some of the gunk off and you should see it.

..and I think that's a DeSoto front bumper...

I'll look tomorrow for the casting number.

I thought that bumper looked like a cars bumper. Its a very cool little truck.
