Sincerely sorry to hear about the family situation. Best of luck getting the truck finished. You've put so much time and energy into it. Looks great and would be exciting to see you get it running again

yeah I really do want to finish it..I'm pretty much DONE spending money on anything big, it's little stuff now. I should be able to get her running this summer if all continues to go well, and I have places to store it if need be. If I can finish it and pass it on, I will, before letting it sit and rot.

Steering is getting welded up this weekend, I flipped the spring back to the correct position, didn't lower it but the pinion angle is much better. Front shaft is about 1-2" short..anyone know a junkyard pull that will work? (D20 tcase).
Truck is going to go live up at Jubilee Jeep Stables for a bit, hopefully can finish it up there some year shortly.

IIRC, an XJ front will work. Take a tape and check one.

I have steering!!! Finally got this piece welded up, yes I need to find my castle nuts :P As you can see everything clears nicely..it was a LOT of trial and error to find the exact mix of crap that would work this nicely. The lift springs are overkill, but the only ones thick enough I had that would not go inverse under the weight of the truck.

Well..first time in YEARS the truck has been moved..we pulled it out of my ex's house with a Bobcat..I was happy to hear NO creaks or anything..quiet as a ghost..sadly I stripped something out in the steering box or ujoint in the column manhandling the steeringwheel..just pops when you try and turn the wheel :/ The guy moving it did about 70mph on back roads with me freaking out out trying to keep up to his brand new Super Duty, but the truck didn't hardly move on the trailer even without rear shocks (4 38x15.50 Super Swampers in the bed may have had something to do with that. So that's everything I own in the world right there, lol. Soon the J3000 will go to it's next place of resting up at Jubilee Jeeps until I can finish it..so close.. For reference it's sitting on a slope on 265 tires..my jeep is over 6' tall to it's roofline and the truck dwarfs it.

yeah..I'm going for 'classic' redneck..low with big tires is great if you DON'T have an exhaust x-member to clear..sigh. I'm thinking a set of skinny 36" tires will end up being good on it. That's a long way off though..
