GW rear wiper 'sticker'

This thread reminded me of a question I have been meaning to ask.

On old GWs with the rear window wiper, there is a 2 x 9 inch spot of decaying paint under the rear wiper. Obviously, when new, there was a sticker of some kind there. What did it look like?

As mentioned clear protective tape, to protect the paint from the wiper sitting on the tailgate. Obviously it doesn't stand the test of time....
