J20 build can i make it work?
Slowly building my J20 and have a few questions. Im pretty sure this is not possible but id like to try. A guy in town is selling 4 interco TRXUS STS 38X15.50 R16LT less then 100 miles 500 bucks with rims. This is a steal id like to try and get them under my J20. I have a 4 inch lift thinking of throwing on a 2 inch body. Im pretty sure SOA would be the way to go but not gonna do that. I believe some have gotten 36s under a J truck with only 4 inchs of lift would the 2 inch body make it happen? No plans to wheel this one so only street use/hauling loads in the bed. Am i dreaming or can this be done? Im sure id have to regear as well. Anyone know what gears i have in a 74 J20?
Also im looking into new bucket seats anyone reccomend an aftermarket set that fits nice? If not ill just find something at the junkyard.
Thanks guys

Yep it's possible. 38's on my avatar w/ 6" lift. Have to trim the front corner of fender or tire will rub.

yep, you might rub a little especially depending on the wheel width and backspacing. i have 4-5" lift on my cherokee with 36's and they don't rub.

Are the rear leafs post mount on the 74's?? My 68' was and the rear tires barely missed them by about 1/2". Unsure of the backspacing though. Tires were 38x12.5/16.5 tsl

Yes, the rear springs on his 74 are post mount.
The later Jeeps don't have better clearance though, as the springs sit in the same place, just with different hangers.
I have a strong feeling those won't width wise, it will depend on the back spacing of the wheels.

Yep I got more pics but I'm just too darn stupid to figure out how to upload, download, post. Tried photobucket today but I just got mad & gave up. I know it's not the computer......it's the user.
