Roll on Bed Liners.

I am looking to do the floor of my 79 Cherokee and was wondering what kind of experience you guys have had with different manufactures of the roll on bed liners. Thanks.

Dan

Not happy with Herculiner. Peeling up after following the instructions to the letter.

dont use the Dupli-color either. it is good as a noise supressor but isnt too durable. i have not heard anything bad about burabak though, you may want to look into that.

I've done three Jeeps, 2 CJs and 1 FSJ and never had a problem with the Herculiner product. Takes about twice as long to prep the floor right than it does to paint the floor. Also I have never rolled it on, I always used a brush, seemed to turn out fine.

Either way good look, i think that its worth the time.

I know it sound funny but i have a buddy that used roofing tar in his old one ton work truck. Turned out solid and looked better than the liner. Not much prep envoled either.

i never thought about that, the only thing that i could see wrong with that is the smell, and stickiness in the summer.

I used Herculiner (roll on) throughout the interior of my YJ about 8 years ago and the stuff has held up great. The prep work was the key I think.

I have also used the Duplicolor bed liner aerosol on ALOT of pieces and that stuff holds up like a champ. As far as that goes, I have never been anything but impressed with any product from Duplicolor.

Thanks, I have been looking at the Durabak and wanted to make sure there are no real horror stories out there. Anyone out there happen to have used this product and have pictures? Thanks and Happy Trails

I have a few "chips" that durabak sends to ya if ya request it.. like a few pieces of alum beer can cut up and coated with diff colors. its pretty tough stuff. Ill let ya'll know what I think of duplicolor in a few weeks because this summer I was looking at a can Ive had for a few years. Just for the heck of it I sprayed the handle of a splitting maul that I am currently using.. If that stuff stays on there thru me using it and also sitting outside.. then I will be pretty impressed. Although I have to think anything in a spray bomb is compromised by the propellants used as are most spray paints.

Oh yeah also mabye some of you remember Porkchop painting his entire jeep with orange durabak.

I just finished mine with the Plasticote brand bedliner kit. I already have a few chips and several places are peeling. I followed the directions, I guess I didn't get it scuffed enough in a few places around corners and bolts so it lifted. For the most part its ok, really thin though.

I put Herculiner on the floor of my car trailer, about 6 or 7 years ago .
It's held up well even at the rear where where the rear tires need traction to pull up on the drop-tail part of the trailer.
It's not thick like Rinoliner, but does the job I wanted it for, protects the metal and adds traction.

Plasti-cote...$45 for the kit at Wal-Mart. Contains a gallon of the bedliner, a pan, a brush, a roller, and a scuff pad. Takes a few layers but a gallon will cover your entire floor front to back at least twice and works great. Dires in about 20 mins in warm weather. Id share pics but I me and my short fuse grenaded my phone last week

I used the Pro-form Bedliner to very good effect. It takes quite a bit of wear to scratch the stuff and had a very nice look to it when I rolled it on. Prep-work is key!

I Herculinered my J10 cab floor this summer.

I used a angle grinder with a wire wheel on it and buffed the whole floor with it.
Had a few rust spots, so I got some stuff rust converter and sprayed that on.
After a couple days the rust had turned black, then cleaned it all up and used some acetone to wipe it all down.

I just mixed up the herculiner real good and poured it on the floorboards.
Used a roller to spread it around and let it dry.
It's hard as a rock now and very think...No problems with peeling yet.
