Woodgrain color & code
Anyone knows which is the 3M color & code for the woodgrain panels of my 1989 GW ?
I understand there are "marine teak", "cherry oak" and "burma teak"
Any help appreciated

Marine Teak is the color for the last few years.

Did the J trucks ever have the wood trim?
I've always loved the "Woody" look and would love to mod my J20 to have the wood grain look.

IIRC trucks also could be had with a narrow woody band (like the late 70's wags. Could be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time

Well, actually I found one company that has a replica of the same color, marine teak. I ask them to send a sample to check.
www.stripeman.com
Any feedback from them ?

I got a sample from them over a year ago and the quality of the vinyl was good, but the color and grain were not.
They were very nice, but I wasn't impressed with the grain or color.
This may have changed. Post up when you get your sample to compare.

stripeman sell a digitally scanned reproduction, so i'm keen to hear what its like too - but the fact its sun fade resistant for what - 2 years? - put me off.
i had recvd a book from 3m with all of their current di-noc vinyl swatches inside it. there is an amazing selection & ample wood-grains that would suffice for our wags - & i came very close to purchasing - some of the grains actually have texture too, where-as the the original was just a flat surface with a vary gaudy, shiny finish, & honestly, some are so close to the original i reckon many wouldn't know the difference anyway.
however, i'm a stocker, & after a many years long odyssey, i recently found what must be one of the last surviving nos rolls of marine teak di-noc vinyl - my pocket's a lot lighter now tho.....
but as an alternative, consider contacting 3m to see their current di-noc range, it may not be marine teak, but it'll be close, & perhaps even a modern day improvement - & as a consolation, its made by the original marine teak manufacturer too....
