Man these are heavy

I'm not sure how many people can still see their GVWR on their sticker. I found them in the tech manual and figured I'd list them here. It surprised the heck out of me.

Grand Wagoneer/J-10, 108.7/119/131 inch wheelbases
Standard Suspension - 5975 lbs
Heavy Duty Suspension - 6200 lbs

J-20, 131 inch wheelbase
Standard Suspension - 7600 lbs
Heavy Duty Suspension - 8400 lbs

That's the max gross vehicle weight - truck and payload.

That's not empty weight, that's gross vehicle weight rated. Thats empty weight+ however many passenger its rated for, I think they considered standard passenger weight as 150 lbs, then they add on the rated cargo capacity of the truck, 1000 lbs for the J10, I think, add those together and you get GVWR.

And yes I know all of us has probably put a lot more than 1/2 ton in a J10.

They're actually on the light side fore their age and size. I just weighed my 86GW on a CAT scale about a month ago and was surprised to see it only weighed 4,560lbs with a full tank of gas and a couple extra items for towing.

I've overloaded every 1/2 ton I've ever had. I had a 99 S-10 with a 4.3L. I was using it to tow a 5K lb boat uphill, in third gear doing about 80. I exploded a power steering hose but I got up that dang hill...and quick.
