What tranny is this?

I know that the tcase is a dana 20, but am having a heck of a time figuring out what the tranny is.

It is a 3 speed manual, out of a '78 J10 with a 258 in it.

Any help would be great, also, how much should I ask to sell it for?

Bryan

i.d.

look at the front bearing retainer and see if it has t150 or t15 on it. I believe when I changed out my retainer and input when converting my Cherokee over to a 360 it had those numbers on it. I will look tomorrow and let you know as I have an extra V8 change over for a t150.

Most likely a T-15. As far as price? I just haven't seen any bring much denero. Lindel ran one in his GE Cherk and when the motor puked a rod, I think he wound up using his for a boat anchor.

More than likely your looking at core charge.

T-15A, not a bad little tranny, had one in '77 Cherokee and a CJ also. Much easier to row thru the gears than my T-18. Value is hard to say, maybe 100-150 if it's clean inside. Pretty sure it's too short to put behind a V-8 in an FSJ without an adapter but they hold up nice in V-8 CJ's.

From the link I posted...

The T15 may have the following casting numbers: T15 or 1307, or 13-07-065-901 and these are typically found on the passenger's side.
The Borg Warner T14 and T15 transmission are similar in designation, and visually somewhat similar. However, the T14 did use a three-bolt front bearing retainer whereas the T15 used a four-bolt front bearing retainer.

Typical casting numbers found on the T150 are 2603xxx on the top and each side.

Thanks! I bet I just cant see the 1's on the side. The cast numbers are on the pass side, and the tcase is kinda blocking so it was hard to read.

So, t15? or t15a? Thanks again
