Wagoneer Cummins project.

Work has been so crazy I have not had time to do much on my Cummins Wagoneer project except do lots of planning and organizing.

I have decided to swap the body onto a low mileage Dodge Cummins 4x4 chassis. I am having a shop do this cause I do not have time. I am also having the wide track flairs installed like Riverbeast did on his Wagoneer which extended the wheelbase 7 or 8 inches. The shop is going to fab the new body mounts onto the Dodge frame and shorten it to fit the Wags new wheelbase.

I am making one last frame comparison this weekend to make sure there are not going to be any major issues, and if not, it is going into the shop to get r done.

Wish I could afford a Cummins chasis, let alone the money for a shop to do it.

I wish I had time to do the fab work, but I just don't. I have been dreaming of this Wagoneer for years and I want it done.

Pascal, I'll be down in Austin in a month or so (at the airport) and can bring the axles, etc. that far if you think you might be able to meet me. I may be in Houston in October, but that hasn't been confirmed yet. LMK and I can get a solid date for Austin.

Elliott,

Give us a holler if you need any extra muscle loading those up on your trailer.

Pascal, look forward to seeing the Wag when it's completed. Keep us posted!

I understand that sentiment. I was quoted $1400 for to install a junkyard motor into my non-FSJ truck. Instead, I went out and bought a rebuilt motor and am installing it myself. I am now about $400 shy of the shop's price and *I'M* doing all the work!

Real smart, eh?

Thanks, you can take them to Krawltex if you don't mind. I'll be using one of those axles in the wag becasue I can't get an ox locker for the dana 70 that is in the Dodge chassis. let me know when you know when you are going and THANKS!

I can do that for you, it's going to be October 14/15th when I head down. (just checked the schedule)
Are they going to be ok with me dropping off both axles and those four tires plus your HB accumulator?
Are you going to want another axle with that ratio? ...cause I'm hitting the yards again soon.

Janie, I'll just load these in the dually with the engine hoist so it's no trouble really.

OK, I'll definitely be in Dallas before that and I will need them pretty soon. I'll see you up there.

Have you seen any in 3.31?

Didn't Popular Mechanics do this a few years ago and did an article about it?

You're a policeman and you make $60/hr? Around my area cops are always complaining they don't make enough!

I will be going through Dallas sometime on the 19th of July.
Probably too early in the morning though, not sure until it happens though.

Early is no problem for me if it would work for you to stop by Decatur. I'm real close to Hwy 114/287.

Bit out of my way, I was coming south on I-30. and was going to jog around DFW and take I-35E south.
But we will see what Pascal says. Definitely a better time frame compared to Oct.
Not sure what time of the morning it would be, but I will have an empty flat bed trailer at that point. So it should be an easy load (trailer is tall, but no sides helps.)

I just can't wait to see this thing FINISHED!
Maybe Pascal will finally get demoted from King to Prince of unfinished projects
