shipping widetrack fenders -- who is lowest and how do you package
Folks:
I can't find any local buyers for a set of front fenders so I will need to ship.
I stopped by FedEx ground and they were much high than expected (about $90 per, between Kansas and Viginia) and UPS suggested I would need to send as "frieght" at a minimum of $200.
Any other options and how did you "box up" the fenders?
Thanks - Bob

I nested a pair (one right side up and the other upside down, insides facing each other) and sent from OR to Zack at ZM. Just in cardboard box, went DHL ground for around 65-70 bucks. That was a couple of years ago, before fuel surcharges. Was the best deal I could find.

via UPS is how I did last pair. Not cheap. They do not have to go UPS freight u were disinformed. You can either build a crate, find a box or bubble wrap the crap out of them(what I did). Also tape huge signs or use red marker - TOP LOAD ONLY. Hopefully they will topload them so they won't be crushed.

How long ago was that? I used to suggest Greyhound all the time until recently. I just bought a new carpet set for my Waggy and it cost over $125 to ship it Greyhound. Everyone is really jacking the prices because of fuel.

I think last set I sent out I sandwiched like mentioned above, held together with zipties through the bolt holes, and wrapped in plastic. UPS shipped it for like $40.00.
That was last fall I think.

Go to a bike store and get a bike box, they fit REALLY nicely in there. Should be around $60-80 shipping via FedEx or UPS....
