Try turning your wiper knob to the left. I never knew this until it was mentioned a while back and tried it.

I seem to remember that JC Whitney used to make/sell something for this.

I put a JC Whitney one on my '74 back in '88, and it's very nice. Here's the item # for one on ebay that is not identical to mine, but would probably work. 180238137972

JC Whitney has two on sale now, search their site for "washer switch." I know, it doesn't make sense. Mine is the top one with the yellow mist button, and it's only $9.99.

you can convert from stock wipers to intermittent by simply buying a used control-box and plugging it in-line between the existing plug and the existing switch.

I'm pretty sure you need to change the switch also.

I was just going to snag the switch and module from an early-mid 80's Wag to put in my Chero, it only has one intermittent speed, and the adjustable rate intermittent speed wipers on the Wag work well. The Chero had one of those aftermarket intermittent wiper modules on the dash, it was much too ugly and I tossed it.

I know this is correct for 1979-1/2 and newer, but I was under the impression that the older rigs this was not the case. (??)

Yep, 79-85 (didn't catch the 76 part when I posted). Earlier models used a GM style, so you'd either have to rewire, or get a gm-based switch and delay module (not sure which ones would fit though).

My 75 wag had a delay switch, it worked great (I have no idea who or where it came from) it was the same color as the interior, I don't know if it was a factory option.

I don't think there is a stock one for a 76. IIRC they started using them in 79 and that is also a different wiper motor. I don't know the compatibility of a 79 or newer motor to be swappped in place of an older motor. It takes the newer motor to work with the stock wiring harness.
If I can find my old 76 motor I'll compare it to the 81 motor. I will be tearing apart the dash in my 81 in the very near future to fix my wiper stud problem and I'll also be upgrading to a delay wiper switch. I just drug out all the new parts for this swap over the weekend.

Hey Hoot i think even the mounting sufuse is different! i took a new motor and added it to my other cab i'm building but i had to remove the old pig tail and add the new one into the wiring harness.. no jeeps around here to get the wiper parts from! only 3 in pullaparts are newer rocker switch type.

OK.. So you already have upgraded your motor then.. Then all you will need is the plug in harness from someone and the switch. I'd put a want ad for it..
Sorry but I haven't got any parts like that for sale..

I've got a J.C. Whitney addon delay I bought a couple of years ago just laying around you can have for the freight.
I ended up buying a used unit (delay module and switch) from J&W for my 79 J10 for $40 bucks works great
