what are you chevy powered guys doing for a radiator?

the time has come for me to finally replace the rad in front of my bb chevy in my 76 chero.i have patched this many times thru the yrs.im kinda looking towards the aluminum ones like the griffin.i run an external trans cooler anyway so i dont need any of that stuff.my current setup has both necks on the passenger side.im also wondering if i should change this too because the po ran a smallblock chevy and had one of the necks moved from the driverside to the pass side.just truing to get some ideas as to what will work well for me in the space we have in our rigs.

I put an aluminum rad in when I did the 5.3L, no complaints at all. BJ's sells an drop in for Chevy conversions if you don't want to mess with making up mounts...

I use a stock Wag radiator with the in/outs swapped and the bottom has an up-swept outlet instead of straight out. Been working well for 16 years, did get a new one finnnaly last year though - stock just like the other one.

Not Chebby, but when I converted My Scout to Dodge 318 power, I simply used an aftermarkef Trans cooler, and some exhaust pipe for a crossover to the radiator. Just have to keep the coolant ratio above 30 percent.

For the trans cooler lines you can plug them with standard NPT brass plugs from any hardware store. For the outlets, they are all angled slightly on the AMC versions, but the GM versions are straight. This makes it easy to use the factory hoses or universals.

Check out Extremeradiator.com I am running a 350 and bought a 4 row rad from them for $250 shipped. Had a slight issue with the lower neck still having the 90 degree upturn one call to JD and he shipped me out a new rad with a straight out lower neck. Direct bolt in and works great.

if you can, find a radiator for a wag with a buick 350, it will bolt right up.

otherwise if you don't want to spend the big bucks on a conversion radiator just find one from a blazer or truck with a similar width, then fab up mounts. it isn't too hard to do. just weld up a piece of angle across the bottom of the core mount, then pick up a set of radiator brackets to hold it together. this is what i'm doing, and using a custom built aluminum racing radiator (found on the wall of my parts house) and an electric fan setup.
