as I recall, they are a chinese import. Make sure to check it before installing and also reuse your old dizzy gear.

I think the knock offs being sold on E-Bay were the bad ones
Hell, just go to Summit and get a Mallory for $70 more and get a FAR better unit.

I found one from another source on ebay, went to their website to save a couple of bucks on shipping, installed it, went to Moab, works great. Starts much more easily, no more points getting eaten up.
Good luck! Mine came with an american-made gear, whatever that means. Some have had gear problems, but I didn't.

I just put one in my truck last weekend. I ordered one from BJ's after waiting over 3 weeks for 4WD.com to ship. I contacted them after 3 weeks and they told me it was going to be another 3 weeks while they wait for their supplier. Contacted BJ's they had them in stock and I had it in my hands a week later for only a few dollars more. I couldn't understand why if 4WD's were on back order they could'nt contact me and let me know, I had to call them. I quickly cancelled my order, contacted BJ's, and I was good to go.
Oh yea, install was pretty straightforward, drilling the hole in the shaft for the dist. drive gear sucked, dropped it in and it was good to go.

They have beat the Summit prices on everything I've asked for a quote on including parts that have hyper competitive pricing like Edelbrock valve covers. I should mention that the $15 BJ's advantage included the IFSJA discount.

also, if there is something you see on Summit that you want, contact us and we can probably get it.....and we can usually beat their price (or at least match it)

I just put one of the ones from 4wd hardware into my '71 J4000 with a 304 about a month ago. then about a week ago the thing started popping and banging then died . Towed it home, but haven't had a chance to check it out yet.
Wonder if it is the dist. gear shelled? never thought about changing that
Paid $149 for mine.

It's my understanding that from all the issues with Chinese made HEI Dizzy's and Timing Chain Covers, MC inspects each unit shipped.
So, if this is true, how much better can it get when a Master Machinist kicks the tires of the products he sells to make sure they are right!
