I was looking for a 360 for my wagoneer last fall. My old one threw a rod. I found one not too far from my house and it seemed like a good enough deal. It was rebuilt and only had like 12k mls on it. That is just broke in to me. The price was 800 dollars. The engine came with all the accessories. Edelbrock intake and carb, msd distributor, Even a 1979 j10 to carry it home in. The truck was described as a basket case. I figured I could always get a couple hundred at the scrap yard. so I brought it home.
I put the engine in my GW. It runs great and I drive it everywhere.
I never really looked at the truck itself till I got home with it. After all it was going to get sold by the pound when I was done with it.
Now I Have the bed off and I'm welding new rear shackle boxes on it. I bought new ones for $50 from a dealer in CT somewhere. Also some shackles from BJ's $45 or so after shipping. I need to patch the bed some but not too bad. The cab Floors have been patched. Not like the way I fix them but they will do for a while. Other than that the truck seems pretty solid. I think I will have about 350 bucks in the body, when I'm finished. I am going to start looking for a decent used motor to drop in her. It wont be a show truck, But it will be mine.

I think can get it back together and on the road for less than a grand. The way I figure ......
$ 200 - junk truck body
$ 150 - misc. sheet metal, tiger hair and paint
$ 200 - suspention
$ 300(est) - amc 360
$ 150 - Other
And the cycle repeates
The way it came
In The garage
