Floor Pans Done

Did some welding yesterday and today. I was able to get the temparary front bumper and most of he drivers side floor pan done. Floor pans dont look the greatest but all I had to weld with was a 225amp stick welder and some 3/32 6013's. Then I borrowed a friends small mig with flux core which made things much easier. Not a bad use for a junk dryer I don't guess

first panel all tacked in

Let me know what you think please and sorry for pic quality camera phone is quicker than regular digital camera.

Tomorrow I will probably start the comp cut rear quarters

Looks great to me! Don't feel bad about using a washer...I once used the side of a server rack they were throwing out at work! It's just metal.

BTW...what did you use as a coating on the top when you were done?

Looks good! Lol I have a new dryer on the front porch waiting for me to pull the dead one out for future floorboards myself. Somehow "clean up the livingroom and I'll install your new dryer" isn't working on the girlfriend..

seconds on the goop identification please

Thanks for the compliments guys!! First floor pans I ever done. The top coat is Plasticote spray on bedliner from wal-mart. It is about $40 a gallon and works pretty good. That is the results on a light coat and a heavy coat using a brush.

looks really good! Glad to see your foor supports were solid unlike mine, trying to figure out how to replace them. Closest thing I can find is for a 63 Kaiser/Willys. If anyone knows where I can find them let me know.

Looks great , and to think I spent 60 bucks on a 4x10 sheet of 18 ga. cold rolled when I had a perfectly good washer sitting next to my jeep.

I keep meaning to go down the mountain to the local salvage yard with my sawzall to get some myself. 10 cents a pound... probably cost me less than a buck!

That washer never knew what hit it.. *holds hat to chest*

Washer gave it's life so the Jeep would go on. It's in a better place now.. OK, I'll stop.

I love your door panel decor. If I had a '715 I would make the soft top out of it. Great job on the floors. Speed limit signs made the ultimate sacrifice for my floors.

I have used washers, dryers, and stoves.
Pretty much anything that I have laying around in non-working order is fair game.

That is a good looking job.
