Maiden Voyage
I am very impressed with my waggy. Took her out for the 1st time saturday the 29th and she did great. Had no problem doing every line my friend did in his ZJ on 35s. Actually, I made some things he didn't. Sure, I banged some frame rail, scraped and what not, but all in all, it went anywhere I pointed it! I can't wait to get this thing lifted more. The rechargeable batteries in the digital took a crap, so I gotta go develop the disposable cameras, scan and upload before I can post any pics. But I will soon!

Well, I did notice I slightly bent one front leafspring. And the other front spring I just noticed the bolt barely hanging in the shackle! That coulda been bad on the highway. Wow.

Passangers. lol. Had my kiddo, my fiance and her kiddo. My mom went, but she rode in the ZJ since my friend came alone. We had a blast. He did break motormount bolts though. Engine dropped on one side, hit distributor. Bottle jack between the axle truss and motor, some aligning, some bolt robbing from other places and timing adjustment and we were rolling again.

Welcome to the insanity! It's all downhill from here, so to speak.

Great pics!!! That makes more sense to have yer antenni mounted where yours is at no rippin it off on an obstacle. Are those green barked trees mesquite?
Glad you made it home for repairs

If it has green bark it's a Palo Verde. Thus concludes the Sonoran Desert Lesson of the Day. (Grew up in Tucson)

I couldn't think of a better place for it.
And the green trees are palo verde. But there are a lot of mesquite trees out where I was. A friend lost a tire to a mesquite root a year ago. Those roots are sharp and hard!

That is the backway to Crown King. And road to sunflower wasn't open saturday. A bunch of people I know went and got diverted around. Then it's still 1 lane each way, so traffic home is terrible I'm told. Friends met at sunflower around 9am and didn't get home until 10pm. Don't think I'm heading that way until the road is done. Heard June or July was the sceduled date.
