It's on the road!

Oh wow, after a LONG winter, up here in this frozen wasteland, I was able to get out an' tweak what was needed to get my 1978 on the road.

She fired up like a dream, then I proceeded to stall it 8 or 9 times in the driveway. My neighbour was watching, but he will pay later for his loitering .

Other then that and a new tank of gas, I made her to work in one piece.

I really need to look into a steering issue though, I overcorrected an' the dang thing leaned into it pretty good. Guess I'll get use to it.

NEXT STOP: Stake Sides an' some more clearance on that flatdeck.

I would assume that the box did a little disappearing number due to rust.

PO fabbed the deck, and I think he did a pretty awesome job. The only downside is that it really doesn't have any clearance. I'll have to either take a torch to the sides, or fabb some wheel wells.

I think I really like the flatbed. Get some work done with one. And if it still had the bed you would have to worry about doing more damage to a bed thats already 30 years old. I just have a toyota for a pickup but am thinking about a putting a flatbed on it for those reasons. Keep me updated on what you do for clearance though. A few more inches would be sweet.
