J10 Project Update
We installed the 4.0 in the J10 this weekend.
As suspected and noted here several places, the wide FI manifold would not clear the brake booster. "Hello Elliott" Check your Ebay.
Well Now that we've decided to HydroBoost, that will be another delay in getting this thing running.

Hey, I got three questions. I've read thru some of the archived stuff regarding this kind of swap. And the answers to the interference looks like two basic options:
a) doing a hydro-boost
b) or a body lift.
1) How much of a body lift would be required? I'm not too smitten with body lifts, 1" or so would be my desired limit.
2) And had a another question, how are you addressing the CPS (crank position sensor) for the 4.0 ltr? Did you get the bellhousing machined to accept the CPS, or are you getting one of them front crank mount kits?
3) Where are you gonna mount the 4.0 ltr computer?
BTW, nice install and pics.

I like the looks of the flatbed, makes me want to do it myself.

I agree with Lindel, that flatbed looks mean ! There is a J truck around town here that I have seen paked in a driveway, I just havent got the money and or courage to ask about it yet!

I don't like the idea of body lifts. 1 or so inches would not be so bad, but to use the origninal brake booster, I would think you would be in the 2 to 3 inch range.
I was going to use the booster from the Cherokee, but it is about 1/4 inch from the manifold. Sooooo, I decided to Hydro boost.
I bought the CPS from Advanced Adapters. It replaces the original Crank balancer and the sensor mounts to the oil pan.
The computer will mount on the driver side inner fender. All the motorcraft stuff and the original harness will mostly be repolaced from the '93 Cherokee.

Thanks, keep me posted, I may be doing the exact same swap.
I got a spare 4.0ltr HO layting around and put an offer on a J10 with a 258 in it. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
