Axle Worth

What are the front and rear axles worth in a N/T '78 Cherokee Q-trac?

did all cherokees have D44s front and rear?

any other vehicles people take these axles and swap into?

I sold that exact pair for $400, but I had a locker in the rear. They went to a FSJ guy, but I think most people do better selling the NT axles to the CJ/TJ/YJ crowd who are looking to upgrade their Dana 30s and such.

Yep, they work pretty well in a CJ, only a few inches wider than the "wide track" CJ axles. I'd expect there's not a huge market though, since you have to move the rear pads and outboard the fronts. The offset rear is good for the earlier models with the Dana 18. $400 seems like a lot though... especially since they are usually 3.54:1 or 3.31:1 and such ratios aren't very desirble. I'd be very pleased to get half that much.

No, 1980 and later used the AMC Corporate axle (M23) in the rear.
