Any FSJ folks near I-40 in North Carolina

I am planning a road trip to fetch my Cherokee where it lies in Jacksonville, North Carolina. I feel pretty good about my trailor and tow rig but you never know what could happen. I'll be traveling I-40 from Knoxville all the way across N.C., I am leaving Thursday morn. If any one wants the 3 a.m. bad luck call PM your info. I have spares for everything so I think it would take something awful to waylay me. I am not so much worried about going as coming. My inbound load is light, the Cherokee, not so light. If you see me honk and wave. I'll be in this:

with this on a 16 foot tandem axle trailor behind me:

It's been a long time comming, the Cherokee is gonna come home and get straightened out.

The weather looks like crap, 3 to 5 inches in the mountains I am going through. I am bailing out early, like tonight, hopefully I'll just miss it. Thanks to all who gave me their info. I feel pretty good about the deal. I'll put up some pics when I get back.

Not Yet

Well I got it all done, an axle stuffed in the front and on the trailor but didn't pull it back. A friend of mine is going to bring it to me with his Cummins rig here in a week or so. I got back to Knoxville right in the middle of an ice storm yesterday morning, folks were wrecking all over the place it was awful. Here some pics from the adventure.

Stuffing the axle

Fire ant pile right where I am flopping around on the ground.

Loaded and ready to roll out. There are 3 chero's on this picture which is pretty cool.

Scored these for Old Blue. This same set taught me alot on the Cherokee when I had them a few years ago. TSL's are so much fun to play on.

Picked the hitch and rim up for my bro's Cherokee.

Couldn't pass on these either, I like these better than ratchet straps.

It's Home!!!!

It took a year but I got it home. It was Super Bowl Weekend last year that I packed up and moved back to TN. My old Wheelin/Marine Corps buddy came through (almost 500 miles) and delivered the goods, now begins the rebuilding of my first FSJ. The front axle needs perches, the carb is gone, no driveshafts, the trans/tcase still needs mounted, no clutch linkage and some exhaust work needs replaced. But it's here and that's a start. Thanks to all who offered their phone #'s I really appreciate it.
