Clutch fans Thermal or non Thermal

All,

What's the differernce, between thermal and non thermal clutch fans.
Which one is stock and which is best.

My stock 360 fan spins when I start the engine, is this OK, should is get hot first?

Thermal all the way.
Non thermal will only spin at a fixed rate. Higher the rpms, more air it pushes.
Thermal has a thermostat built in, it will spin faster as the engine heats up...

Thermal will pay for itself in fuel savings.
