1992 Grand Wagoneers?
"It seems that a small number of 1992 Grand Wagoneers were built. One enthusiast claims to have documented four 1992s, and reports that perhaps as many as 300 were built."

First thing that comes to mind (Ok the only thing) , is Jeep added track bars in the 80's anything else would have just been tuning of spring rates and shocks.

There may have been left-over 91s sold in 92 but it wasn't like the couple of hundred J trucks that were left-over 87s but sold as 88s with an 88 VIN number. I've never seen a 92 VIN on any GW and this would be the place one would show up if there were any around.

No kidding, if 300 were made, somebody here would have seen one at some point. Seems like this topic rolls around every few years.

I think '92 was the transitional year between the Grand Wagoneer and the Grand Cherokee. Basically, it was a Grand Cherokee with wood siding and Grand Wagoneer badging. I've seen a handful over the years. So unless they've actually seen one, it's a Grand Wagoneer on paper, but a Grand Cherokee in real-life.

I do not know if any actually exist, but this website shows 330 in the facts and figures table for production numbers.

From my understanding, no FSJ's were built after 1990, there are a few 1991 Grand wagoneers, but not many.
The Grand Cherokee 1993 model was introduced pretty early, from memory there may have been ones sold as early as late 91, not sure when the vinal shelf paper version of it that Jeep called a Grandwagoneer came off the lines, but I could certainly see there being some registered in 1992. So I could see some registered 1992's of both FSJ Grand Wagoneers,(sat on lot for a year) and GrandCherokee "GrandWagoneers" (early production ones) but I don't beleive there are any that carry a 1992 Vin #.

No, (oh god NO)
If you can bolt a Rhino grill to the front using the factory holes, then and only then is a a FSJ.

I've looked high and low for documentation of the mysterious 300+ '92 Grand Wagoneers and have never come up with anything.
The final Grand Wagoneer (the one that ened up in Harrah's collection) was built June 21, 1991 (they had documentation), and I've never found ANY evidence of any being built after that.
One of my favorite FSJ urban myths is that those 300+ 1992 Grand Wagoneers were all bought by a wealthy oil-sheik and shipped enmass to the middle east.
1992 was a strange year for Jeep. There were no more Grand Wagoneers and the ZJ "Grand Wagoneer (Woodgrained Grand Cherokee) didn't come out until 1993. So for 1992, the top-shelf Jeep was the XJ Cherokee "Briarwood", with it's leather interior and woodgrained exterior. So for '92 your choices were XJ, YJ and a very few MJ Comanches (their last year).

In the chrysler starparts system (catalog) they don't list the SJ in 92. If they did make 300 it would be listed there. So I think its bunk.
