Wheeling Pics - Coney Flats & Middle St Vrain Colorado

Here are the wheeling pics from this weekend for Scott Roberts and myself!

Scott on the first obstacle on Middle St Vrain Video1 & Video2 (1.3mb each)
Jason & Brutus through the Coney Flats Lake Video (1.3mb)

Scott and I were the only FSJ's on the trail. Saw a few XJ's, TJ's, a YJ, couple range rovers and a '76 CJ5 (flooded and then drained the battery trying to start it again). Scott and I are convinced this was the CJ drivers first trip out after he dropped major coin to get this CJ5. He didn't know what to do with a flooded engine, he put the jumper cables on backwards and thinks he was wearing out the clutch on the rocks (I suspect because he doesn't know about low gears).

These are the first pictures of my GF for IFSJA.

ENJOY!

Third link is fixed now.

I think that squeel is actually the PS box or pump... Scott had to tighten the steering box up after the end of the trail.

Looks like a fun time! Wished I could've joined you guys but was under the weather part of Fri and all Sat. The pics are great! Sucks to hear the alt wasn't working. Curious to hear if adding the ground wire(s) helps.

I have to chuckle, in following the FSJ tradition there are several pics with the hoods up... (I'm laughing with you given how many similar pics I have of mine like that)

Did you have the ARB hooked up this time Oh, and do you still have the 360 in it, or is this with the SBC?

I find it halarious that every other photo has the hoods up :P

Most of the pics with my hood up is because I had to jump start Jason, I even had to jump start a nice cj-5 on the trail.

But seriously, I really like these trails, my oldest son was with us and he really enjoyed driving thru a muddle puddle every 100ft or so. We must have went thru 40 puddles on both trails. I plan on doing this run again soon.

I suffered a broken shock, a stuck QT cable and a loose sterring box. Other then that the waggy ran great with the new HEI and QT chain.

Here is some details about the two trails if anyone is interested.

No ARB and still the 360. Wouldn't have made any difference having the ARB hooked up or not... pretty easy trail, just narrow in spots. The SBC is sitting in my garage (bare block) in a bag waiting for me right now. It will be a while before I can get the SBC completed.

Scott and I are trying to catch up with Micheal on hood-up pictures. Too bad I didn't get any Flint-esque pictures after I removed the hood and strapped it to the bedrails for the last part of the trail... Definately got some funny looks driving through Estes Park with no hood.

Thanks. I wish I could have gotten a video of Scott going through the water. By the time I came through the trees and got my camera out Scott was already half way through so all I could do was get a snapshot!

Tailgate handle is still broke. I am going to try and machine one out of 6061 aluminum at work and add material where the cast broke.
