what to ask for this 76 Cherokee
Sorry no pics but ill describe it. Its a 76 Cherokee, the dealer is asking $995. Runs strong, crappy paint job, pulled up carpet its rusty/wet but not rusted through, gas gauge not working, 2door, may be leaking oil or something a tad, Wide Track, some rust on bumpers and around wheels...nothing horible. What do you think i should offer?

my opinion is whatever you pay, it's only going to be a drop in the bucket compared to what you will be paying to keep it up. Sort of a down payment on a long and expensive relationship. Maybe $600?

OH YES!
I agree with this 100%
Especially with rust in the floors...a very long and very expensive relationship.

WOW!
Would you allow me to open a Life Insurance policy in your name, for a million dollars accidental death
and name me as the sole beneficiary of said policy?
I'll call this my Future Jeep Slush Fund.
The way you are going, you are gonna have an 'accident'.

it runs ok? make sure you can get in on some dirt and engage the Low Range and E-Drive. The QT transfercase is the true heart of the beast, if that's bad, well.. if it's a stick or a TH400-D20, go for it. I'd say 500 to do him the favor of getting it off his lot if it's all good.
