Quick carb question

I'm heading up north for the weekend, and I want to take my Grand Wag, but I'm not sure how it will deal with the altitude, and what to do to fix it. The carb I have is an Edelbrock, and I think it's the 1400, but I can't be certain since it was bought from a used car dealership that didn't know beans.

So basically, how do I adjust and edelbrock 1400 for changes in altitude?

My 1406 always did fine even above 9000 feet (although by then it was noticibly rich). Don't sweat it. Besides how are ya gonna know how it will do until you take a trip up there.

Ya, I'm just trying to find out how to do it. I figure sitting at a rest stop with my truck sputtering wouldn't be the best time to try to figure out how to adjust the carb :-p

For what it's worth I'm looking at going up about 5000 feet in altitude.

5,000 feet shouldn't even make it hiccup. Get in and drive!

How to tune an Edelbrock Carb:
1) Download Edelbrock Carburetor Instruction Manual appropriate for your carb.
2) Read Manual completely BEFORE screwing with carb.
3) If adjustments are desired, follow instructions in Manual.

You should be fine going from Chandler to almost anyplace you can drive in AZ, unless you want to be anal.
Most you'd want to do, if you are going to wheel it, is bump the idle up a smidge. You can tell that when you get to where you are going. If it's just for a drive, if it ran good down here, it will be OK up there.
