I have 208am that I can put inthere will these bolt together they like they will and I also need to know if some on can give me some advice on how much tc slop is to much in other words how much should I be able to spin it by hand in 4wd before the front input shaft catches. if I do not rebuild it yet can I do some major damage to the case or will the chain just start slipping before it goes extremly wrong

I doubt you have a np119 unless it was swapped in from an Eagle, more than likely you have the np219 case, and yes it will swap with the 208, as far as slop goes, a little wiggle room between the yokes is fine, but if you can move the rear yoke a quarter turn before the front yoke turns you need to put a new chain in for sure. check and see if it has a plug in the bottom to check chain slack, the quadra-trac cases had one and I would imagine the 208 would have one too, but I am not positive,
btw, just out of curiosity, what's wrong with the 219?? usually it's a pretty sturdy case, not bulletproof but pretty sturdy nonetheless

it actually is an np119 right you are it cam from a amc eagle. the guy i had bought it from swapped the 4 spd out of it when he lost 3rd gear. The np208 is actually the original from the truck. I hope the splines count is the same.
one other question what type of fluid does the 208 use. best thing is I checked out my seals and they look almost brand new yippie skippie
