Cool thanks Bigun. I will keep that in mind. I might try to get the guys at AllJeeps in ABQ to remove the engine for me and in return they can keep the rest. Dont know if that will work. They will probably want more just to take the engine out. And towing it back to El Paso will cost and arm and a leg.

Yep, all jeeps is gone. Let me know when (if) you pull the engine for a swap into the GW, I'd be happy to lend a hand.

Jonathan - Hope your mother recovers quickly, but I'm glad she came through it well.

Jon,

Glad to hear that your Mom is gonna be alright. Stick with her and have patience, she may have a little anxiety about getting into a vehicle after an accident like that.

I I visited Charlies and took a peek a the carnage. Its pretty severe. the whole body is trashed roof is down to seat level. But from what I saw, the frame, 3 wheels, 3hub caps, engine, tranny, t-case, axles, seats and instrument panel are A-OK.

Mom is walking on her own and doing very well, she wanted to go for a drive the past couple of days so I dont think driving will be a problem for her.

The big guy at charlies wrecking is finding someone in belen to remove the engine for me. As for where the jeep is going after the engine removal who knows. I took pictures so i'll post them when i develop the film.

Thanks again for everyones support

Glad to hear she made out ok.

One thing about Mud Terrains..they scare me at speed. I've taken my rig up to a 100+ and it requires the ole 'death grip and hope God aint mad at me' driving skills. I've let my gf drive it a few times, and I keep drilling in her head that they are unpredictable at speed sometimes randomly change lanes when hitting a rough patch. scarey stuff.

If you look at the tire pick you can see where the tread is missing. Dry Rot? the tires were old about 6 years but the jeep was garaged all during that time.

Holy-sheet X2

I would be feeling very lucky to still be on this Earth after riding out a crash that did that kind of damage.

From the looks of the driver's door, it came open sometime early on in the crash. And it weren't no barrel roll either, that thing was Endo'ing.
What's also amazing is how it still sits after the damage, it looks like the frame is probably still straight, heck, use a high lift to get the roof back up and drive it.

Hope she's healing up well.
