71 Wagoneer Project Update (more pics)

This isn't as well documented as I meant it to be. In the hurry to wrap up the frame and get the body back on, the day I had to shoot pics, my digital camera battery was shot... so only what I have below. I wanted to get more shots of the custom rear bumper and some more detail shots, but you get the idea.
Here's the frame all plumbed up with the engine in, just waiting to be pushed out of the garage.
In the last thread there was some discussion of the factory tilt of the transmission, and with the Chevy 350/400 the transfer case now sits flatter than it used to. Here's how I fixed it, I cut out the tranny mount, lowered it so the front driveshaft output is at the stock height and rotated it the correct amount so that the tranny mount still bolts up flush. Here's a pic of it all painted and mounted up shot from behind.
Pushed the chassis out into the driveway, under the body, and lowered it back down with two (borrowed) engine hoists.

And the result is it looks just like it did when I started!
Lots of things still to do. Wrap up all the plumbing with the Vintage Air airconditioning and the new radiator. Prep and paint the dash. Hippoliner the entire floor. Rewire. Etc. Etc. I'll be lucky if it's running by Christmas.

Did you do the suspension lift? Do you know what brand it is?

It's a Rancho Lift that was done two owners ago. I believe it's a 4inch lift, all springs in the front and 2" springs in the back with 2" blocks. The axles were also supposed to have been gone through with a locker in the front and limited slip in the back...
So, I am doing the opposite of what most people do, I am rebuilding everything Except for the lift and axles!

Fantastic Job. The attention to detail looks great! It will be one of the best Wagoneers out there when it is done. Are you going to use it or just use it for special occassions?

Ha-ha-ha, I don't know about that.... As for plans, I plan to use it daily! The outside probably won't change much as I want a rig that mechanically works well, but I don't have to worry about it rubbing against a tree branch.
Budojeepr, come by whenever. I'll PM you my local #. The jeep is out of the driveway today as I had it over at my friends shop yesterday, he's helping me weld up some of the floorboard patches and fill all the little holes in the floor I'm not using, but it will be back in the driveway later today.

Great! I like the body mod in the lower rear quarters! I'm planning on the same thing. I might extend the bumper into the area though.

Nice, moving along pretty well. Looks quite new actually, it'll be a pretty sweet ride, a head turner, and a crowd generator at car shows I bet.
