Before I crank it up, a few GW/360 questions

I’m almost done repairing a 1988 GW and I have a several questions, I hope someone can help me with.
It’s also important to note that the engine compartment caught fire and almost everything under the hood (and the hood, and grill) was a total loss.
There are several questions so I will number them.
  • What would the result be from running a feed line to the carb using a filter with no return line, unlike the stock one?
  • Looking from the front, there is a hard line that comes off the left side of the carb then down into the intake manifold, then back out. Where is this line supposed to go from there? It is pointed at a line that goes into the clean air area (top of carb). The only picture I can find has this labeled as unknown port.
  • What would be the result of going without a throttle stop solenoid? It’s the only thing that needed to be transferred from the burned up carb to the reman unit.
  • As looking from the front, coming out of the tunnel, above the trans are some steel lines three on the left and two on the right.
    • Two of the lines on the left go to the gas tank and the other goes to the transfer case. Is the transfer case line a vent tube? Which of the two gas tank lines (one in the front and one in the back of the tank, it looks like) is for vapor?
    • The two on the right go to a shifter on the t case. Are they supposed to get vacuum? Manifold?
  • On the fire wall just above the tunnel are two burned up stumps that look like they used to be something. What were they?
  • The only things I am not replacing on the vacuum spark advance are the nonlinear valve and the vacuum delays (cuz I couldn’t find them). What will this change?
  • On the carb bowl vent, I don’t have a vapor separator or a bowl vent valve (I think they are both external from the carb) (also couldn’t find them). What will this change?
  • I need a transmission/transfer case mount.
  • I need a new fan shroud.
(The last two are more pleas than questions)

running without a return line will be fine as far as the carb is concerned.

the line from the manifold will hook up to either a nipple on the top of the carb, pass. side,or the aircleaner,it is simply so filtered air gets supplied through there.

i don't use the throttle stop solenoids myself-chuck it.

not sure on the gas lines, the t/c lines will get a manifold supply, via the 4x mode switch.

not sure what you mean on the stumps.

i don't use any of the valves,i run my re-tuned distributors on manifold vacuum only.

cap off the vent fitting on top of the bowl.the carb don't care either way.

1. If you dont run the return line it might flud the carb. The return line also hepls prevent vapor lock by keeping cool fuel flowing.

2. That hard line should go to the choke. It helps warm it up.

3. The stop solinoid is for upping the rpms for the A/C

4. The gas lines are for venting. I have a short hose going from one to the other with no trouble. The other is a vent for the transfer. The vac line need to be routed properly for the transfer case.

5.not sure

6. Try to hook it up to manifold and see how it runs and drives. Some say to hook it to ported. Both will run.

7. not sure

8. Auto store should have them

9. BJ's sells them

The stumps coming out of the fire wall are the reminisce (after the fire) of something. I now think they are the vacuum lines that control the TC (but melted all the way down).
If I am correct then on the other side of the melted stump (inside of the fire wall) should be the vacuum lines leading to the control, I will just extend them to the hard lines that go back to the TC. Can you tell me if this is correct and if so what is the orientation of the lines, or should I just follow them?
