pix, we like pix

When we invaded Ouray in 2002, we meant invade... Heck, there was sumthin like 97 or 98 registered for that week.

Ralph Rogers was asking about some pictures of FSJs lined up in Ouray. I dug out the dusty CDs and found these. I don't think they have been posted on the web before.

Flint, great pic's! I think this one is my fav. Leave it to a J truck owner to pull up in front of a liquor store.

Is that Josh's rig?

Thanks Flint! Those are great!

Now I know how my rig would look with a lift

Anybody know who's wag this is? Same as mine, except the lift and manual rear window.

Hey everbody... Yeah, good stuff huh?

The blue & black woodless GW belongs to Toby deMoss in the Denver area and member of CFSJA. It is an 87 with a 401 in it. That paint job is rattle can! He did a nice job on it and buffed it up good.

The green J3000... I cain't remember the name of the owner...

Yes, that is Josh's Jtruck Janie!

Flint...

This picture freaks me out

It scares me to think how much oil was left on the trails that year!

So what is your preference for Ouray Invasion... 100 rigs or 15 rigs? What will happen for the 50 year anniversary of Jeep fullsize? Another massive invasion? Where did everyone stay?

For those of us who coordinated that mess (especially the very patient and calm mannered Michael Shimniok), we were all in shock by the time registration was done the first day. We were all burnt out at the end of the last day. It was fun, but somewhat stressful. That picnic gathering at Sunnyside Mine was Awesome tho Bro! We had a lot of folks at the KOA, Timberidge Campground, hotels in Ouray and Ridgeway, backcountry campers. We were everywhere!

I would say 15 is more fun because I can have personal experience with everyone. When you have 100, it is just crazy trying to keep up with everyone. Fun, but crazy! As for 50 year anniversary...that would be nice but i do not think you will see any of us old timers take that deal by the horns. At best I could act as an advisor based on my previous insane Ouray experiences.

Ditto what Flint said. We worked so hard for sooo long to organize the whole thing, then busted our asses the whole time to take care of everyone and all the activities. It was stressful and I honestly don't remember half of it just because we were all going going going! It was awesome! But I'm happy to hand the reins to anyone that wants to coordinate another event like that.

Man, talk about causes of global warming and ruining the enviroment. Must have been a temporary gas shortage in Ouray and Silverton after that picnic.
That's an eco-nazi's picketing dream there.

I like how the Ouray trip works out... is there any reason that everyone had to be checked in? I don't see any reason for any more organization than it has right now. I don't see a problem with having a 100 FSJ's there for the 50th anniversary and it working out the same as it has since '03. I agree with Flint, it is nice to spent time with everyone individually rather than scramble to just say "HI" to everyone. I really would enjoy the "sensory overload" though... that would be nice!
