I'm back, been a long time
After 3 kids and no money to spend on my jeep habit I finally made it back. I had to park my cherry then when I went to sell it I hooked up a hot battery to it and it burnt up on me. Now all I have is my 88 Wag. Long story short it needs a new head but was thinking of just changing the engine. I went looking at the prices and also remember other ppl that tried the Jasper rebuilds and they were a mixed bag. If I can find somewhere to pull the motor then I'm going to do it myself. What motors have ya'll gotten and how good were they? Once I can get it running I have to put new treads on it and work on the interior. I'm just ready to have my ol' jeep running again(tired of the 2wd grandcherr getting stuck).

Wow Don, the whole web format has changed alot but the ppl and everything else is the same. It's amazing how much of the mechanical stuff I've forgotten. Once I get my hands greasy again im sure it will all come back to me again.

Cool, however you percive it is fine by me, not like I am quiting my day job for you.
Mud Thrasher,
If you hop to that link in my sig, the "1970 wagoneer - It's Time" one, somplace down on about page 6-7 (IIRC, might be later, it was over 30, 6 hour days last summer) shows how I closed that in.
I could not have done that without the folks I met back here in '01-'02's support.
It's all there, everything from the first (of several) screwups to moving it down the road.

Hey Chrome give me some info on that motor. You know i sold an 86 wag to my b/i/l in Tupelo a few years back. Drove it all the way from Baton Rouge to Tupelo. Is it just a stock motor or has it had some mods? Round about what did it cost ya for your motor?
