its funny how the little jeep crowd and the non believers put these things down and when they need tuff axles and trannys the look for a wag, just makes me sick. i kept my wag for over 3 years and wouldnt sell it, and it didnt even have an engine.

just ignore them all. they dont know what they are talking about.

Ya, I just told one of the haters that I had D44's front n rear and he asked if I would sell em to him for $100. He wants em for a baby Jeep rock crawler project. I gave him the double bird

My wife is the only one that puts the old wag down. She keeps telling me it reminds her of the 1965 Chevelle 2 door wagon that her dad used to drive her to school with. Now that was a cool car.
My neighbors and friends know I always drive cars that are rare or different and said this is the best one I've owned. "It's a keeper" one of them said.

MY wife originally scoffed at the idea of buying my '67 from my father.

Until she SAW it, and rode in it.

Now when I say I need something for it, she's right with me.

A HOLES MAKING OFFERS

I PICKED UP A LITTLE OLD LADY'S (NO KIDDING) 83 CAMRY AT AN ESTATE SALE SEVERAL YEARS AGO.

WHEN I ADVERTISED IT I HAD NO LESS THAN 20 CALLS THE FIRST DAY.

SUPER "A-HOLE" SHOWS UP LOOKS IT OVER AND OFFERS ME LESS THAN HALF OF WHAT I WANTED FOR IT! AS I'M TRYING TO REEL IN MY JAW THAT DROPPED FROM THE SHEAR GALL OF SAID "A-HOLE" THE PHONE RANG WITH SOME ONE ASKING ABOUT THE CAR.... (TALK ABOUT TIMING)
I EXPLAINED THAT I HAD JUST BEEN LOW BALLED AND WOULD HE LIKE TO COME LOOK AT IT.... HE DID AN GOT IT FOR $50.00 LESS THAN I WAS ASKING FOR IT.

"A-HOLE" SHOWED BACK UP JUST AS WE WHERE SIGNING THE PAPER WORK AND TRIED TELLING THE GUY THAT WE HAD ALREADY MADE A DEAL!!!!!

I VERBALY "ESCORTED" HIM OFF OF MY PROPERTY.

DON'T LET TOOL'S LIKE "10 SPOT" GOOF WITH YOU.... THEY'RE EVERY WHERE AND NOT WORTH YOUR TIME!

KEEP ON JEEPIN

Tell the enviro-nazi that not only are you a true preservationist by trying to restore & preserve your older vehicle, but the poor cows they are trying to save (by being vegetarians) are actually causing more of the global warming and o-zone depletion.

By restoring your rig, you are helping save the environment......the new cars are quite often produced in third-world countries using old, environmentally harsh methods and don't have the same environmental requirements we have here. They strip-mine the land, don't prevent stormwater run-off, and leave hazardous waste behind that gets dumped on the land. By fixing your old rig, you are one-step above recycling and helping the environment. Their new hybrid Honda's impact the environment more when they are being produced than your rig ever would, even when improperly tuned.

The Chicks DIG 'em!

The folks I get the most comments from are young ladies. My step daughter cringes when I say "let's take the Wag." She sees it as little more than a stationwagon with, "oh my God! wood paneling!"

What really confuses her is that ALL of her friends see it and make a point of coming up to me and telling my how much they dig my old woodie. Of course I keep getting asked if they can take it to the beach..

I have had women in minivans look at me at the stop light and smile and nod. I have had folks walk up to me as I get out of it in a parking lots and ask about it and typically say "I love those things..where did you ever find it?"

The best was a kid in his early 20's. He pulled his TJ up to me in a parking lot. I was parking and he was leaving. He knew what it was and was trying to explain it to his girlfriend. THey get out to look it over. I was surprised that he knew about the GW's. All went well until his lady friend smiled at me and said, "I really like you Big Jeep. Wood is cool!" I don't think he knew how to take it. I smiled, thanked them both and told them to have a great day.

Of course, I have also found that riding around with a 105 lb Husky in the back with his head out the window helps too.. I like to think the ladies are looking at me, but I know it is Grizwald that gets all the chicks..

I used to get stuff like that all the time when I had my GW back in HS. Now in college w/the W/T most of the comments I get are more funny than insulting like:

"How many Exons did you have to rip off to fill that thing up?"

"What are you going on a safari or something?" Tad rack, tire, hi-lift& lights on top...

"Wait, THAT'S a Cherokee? Are you sure it's not a Grand Cherokee?"

My favorite to date:

"When I saw you jump on the hi-way I thought you were some old geezer gonna go model T speed but **** that thing hauls ***!"

you have to understand that he has no clue what they are worth?ect. yes, our FSJ don't blue book for much. but, we do have the added benifits of a healthy V-8, strong drive train, and a plentiful supply of parts. with FSJ getting their parts from FORD, Chevy, dodge. We can get simple up grades with out the price tag. besides jeep is the original suv. stick to us, and we'll get ya along!
OH and my girl friend loves driving my Heep! "I get checked out more in this, than your 03 tacoma that you sold!"
and For the record, Grizwald is a pimp.

Yea, and the worst thing is....he KNOWS it! This smile pretty much IS him:

He will stay in the YJ even with the top off, cause he knows it is HIS. Not tlike that in other vehicles. I have regularly come out of stores to find groups of people (mostly women) surrounding the jeep petting him and calling him and the whole nine yards. You would think, in 11 years, I would have landed 1 date from one of his groupies....but NO! They ask me about him, play with him, ask if they can borrow him...and nothing for Bryan.

For a pound mutt, he must have been royalty in a past life or something. But, he has been a loyal and true friend since the day he agreed to come home with me and I am grateful to have him..

Next time, tell the interested woman that he had a really sad story.....his life was lonely and empty, becuase his owner really wanted to meet a pretty lady who liked dogs, but hadn't had the nerve to ask one out......and Grizwald hated seeing his owner & friend so unhappy.....and ask her if maybe she knew a way to help out with the situation

That might help things along......

People have stopped telling me I should get rid of the Waggy and buy a new suv finally, I'm glad, I was getting tired of explaining it over and over again. Still get a few odd looks from kids on dirtbikes when offroad, they don't expect to see it go right up a steep slick hill. Nobody really comments it when they see it, I just get a few odd looks, and the occasional wave or honk from another Jeeper or offroader. Thankfully nobody offered to buy it for some stupid low price. Most kids would rather drive a pos old Civic it seems than anything like this. Oh well, more old iron for me.
