GM TBI on a 258?

One of my CJ-7 buddies was telling me that you can swap a TBI unit from a 4.3 all the way up to a 350 onto a 4.2. Has anybody here done this? Any write-ups?

Thanks

The 4.3 ->5.7 GM TBI unit is the same, only injectors differ, the 454 had a
bigger bore but all the rest got the same bore.
There are many kits (Howell and others) or there is lots of info on the web if you go with the truck cpu (XXX747 ??) .

I plan to do this on my truck when I have a driveway to work in. On the advice of another poster on the ECJ5 forum, I bought Custom EFIs book. http://www.customefis.com/ I know he has a spotty record for delivery, but I got the "book" (more like a white paper, under 50 pages) in about two weeks. It contains a lot of good and scarce info, but isn't very well written (jumps around a lot) and has a lot of topical holes that are supposed to be filled by material on the web site. Has really good info on what each connection does and how the system works. Also contains a section about spark control, which most homebrew systems omit. Recommended if you're serious.

Another good source of info: http://www.binderbulletin.org/forums...splay.php?f=75
